In New York, golden glade moss is a species of special interest because it is a protected, rare plant. While the moss is globally secure and common in parts of Canada or alpine Europe, it is highly vulnerable to disappearing within New York State and unlike many other mosses, thrives in difficult areas. It's presence is used by conservationists as an indicator of an ecologically rich, undisturbed, and ancient limestone habitat—often found in pockets of the Hudson Valley, the Adirondack periphery, and parts of Central or Western NY. • Content: 85% upcycled cotton 15% RPET • Production: Knit in Waterloo, NY by our friends and knitting partners at Mozaic Organization; a not-for-profit employing, assisting, and providing services to thousands of disabled person in the Fingerlakes, NY area. • Length: 11.5-12 Inches (without fold) The watchcap is a style that's existed for well over 100 years, though it's most commonly associated with WWII US Navy personnel.
